Egyptian maus cat is the domestic cat and very cute and lovely cat breed. It is the small to medium sized short hair breed cat. They are the few of naturally spotted breed of domesticated breed of cat. The spot of this cat breed occur on the tip of hairs of its coat.
Breed characteristics:
It is the balance between slim elegance and compactness of Burmese. It has medium size muscular body with hind legs giving the mau the appearance of standing on the tiptoe when upright. Egytain mau cat is the fatest of the domestic cat and the unique skin of flap extended from the flank to back knee.
Another behavior mau quite common in happy mood. Facial expression may be changed according to mood. It has eyes colour green.

Egyptain cat breed originated in the Egypt. However the historical evidence points to mau being an Egytian breed. In some organization the mau achieved the championship in 1968. There were attempt by the british breeders to create mau from cross breed Abyssinians like Siamese and tabby.
These did not the resemble the true mau breed.This mix became the Ocicat. Those with the letter tend to be from the united state.
Physical attributes:
Eyptian mau cat is typically the slender and muscular and they are thought to be one of progenitor breed of modern domestic cat. They have the mera bolic and behavioral difference from other cat breeds. They have also the skin fold under the belly and it is resembling that of cheetah which assist in running by allowing the legs stretch back farther.
Mau cat breed are the most temperature sensitive than the other cat breed. They are found of very warm temperature. They are more sensitive to medicines and anesthesia. Maus have the unusually long gestational period about 73 days. The maximum period for all cat is 65 to 67 days although the Siamese cat breed take the one or two days more.
Rarity:
Egyptian breed is the rare breed and in 2007 the kittens are registered with the government council of the cat fancy each year. There are not registered all Egyptian kittens. Maus cat comes in the different colours like caramel, silver, bronze, smoke and black and blue colour.
Black and pewter Maus cannot be shown but may be used in breeding. All Maus must have green eyes, but an amber cast is acceptable in kittens and young adults up to eighteen months old.

The Egyptian Mau Rescue Organization (EMRO) is an agency for the adoption both locally and internationally of tame Maus born in the Middle East. Supported solely by private and corporate donors, EMRO aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about the cats.
EMRO's cats are not pedigreed Egyptian Maus they are Egyptian and Arabian street cats of unrecorded pedigree that come from the Maus region of landrace origin. Breed registries will not consider these cats and their immediate offspring as Egyptian Maus. Establishing later offspring as pedigreed Egyptian Maus requires detailed record-keeping to verify parentage and examination of the cats to ensure they meet a number of exacting breed standard conformation requirements to rule out disqualifying physical traits. Finally the fourth generation cats are eligible for placement on the active registry as formal Egyptian Mau breed specimens provided they have been evaluated fully and approved by a designated representative of the Egyptian Mau Breed Council as conformant.
